The day began with the Inauguration program presided by Dr. E. Jerome Xavier, Principal, Indian Academy Degree College – Autonomous. Dr. Jerome inspired the youthful audience with his wonderful words of wisdom and motivation. Inauguration program unfolded various events of the fest such as ‘Blitz Crunch’, ‘Arthagyaan’, ’ChaturaChanakya’, Mock Stock and Sip, Dine & Shine.
Blitz Crunch- Crisis Management set the platform to rekindle the brains of students to deliberate on a case study. Students across all streams participated in large number to exhibit their presentation and convincing skills. Students debated over Professional vs Personal ethics.
Chatura Chanakya- Best Accountant, activity was an individual event with more than 65 participants. Preliminary aptitude test was conducted to select the qualifiers to final which was a one on one Interview. Participants’ fundamental knowledge in Accounts and Finance were evaluated.
Arthagyaan – Business Quiz was a team activity, where in the Quiz master Mr. Sam Joshua, bombarded the participants with fantastic questions on current and business affairs. This event actually grounded the students to realize how less they knew about the world beyond text books. The think tanks had a knowledge enriching experience.
Mock the Stock – This activity was a simulation of the Stock Market where in the students stepped into the shoes of the investors with some minimum capital investment and traded on the stock exchange. The organisers flashed relevant bulletin news on the trading floor to influence trading activity. The price index literally witnessed Bulls and Bears with soaring and surging prices of stocks.
Sip, Dine & Shine – Indian Academy Degree College, Autonomous campus literally turned out to be a commercial hub for entrepreneurs hard selling their creativity through products and services. It was a visual treat to witness more than 20 sales stalls which put customers in a purchase dilemma. Stalls ranged from appetizers such as Arabian pulp, Panipuri to Yummilicious Biryani, Kabab’s offered on sales discounts such as Combo offer, family pack, ‘Buy 2 Get 1 free’ etc. To add colors to the event some stalls had eye catching colorful accessories which attracted the non-teaching and teaching fraternity from their desks and staff rooms. The USP of the event was that students understood the mantra ‘Customer is the King’ and achieving customer delight was beyond customer satisfaction.
On 13th September 2017 from dawn to dusk at IADC-A campus, it was indeed truly an experiential learning, moving out of classrooms to corridors and understand the essence of team work which is the need of the hour among staff and students.
