The fervent strife towards the hopes and dreams, to build a haven for inquisitive learning and visionary research led to the genesis of Indian Academy Educations Institutions .The commemoration of the embarked journey, as a guild united by knowledge is celebrated every year, on 30th August as Founders’ Day. The celebration of knowledge and social conscience is animated with the widely anticipated Inter-Collegiate Debate competition. This year too, it was a grand success with nearly 45 colleges presenting their best students. The Rolling Trophy was bagged by Karan and Aswath of Presidency College. The Second Prize winners were Samson K Sabu and Safwan Rafiq of Kristu Jayanthi College and the Third Prize was won by Suha Tanzeem and Syeda Sara of St. Annes First Grade College. The event was judged by prominent personalities, Mr. G. Ulaganathan, Former Editor-in-Chief Indian Express, Dr. Cheriyan Alexander, Professor Head of Department of English, St.Josephs College (Autonomous), Bangalore and Mr. Vivek Anand Sagar, Research Associate in NLS.
The Chief Guest for the formal function was Sri. Guruseva Dhurina Padmashree Dr. D.V.R Gowrishankar, CEO and Administrator, Sringeri Math, Sri Sharadha Peetha, Sringeri. The Founders’ Dr. T. Somasekhar Chairman of Indian Academy Education Trust, Mrs. Bharathi Tummala, Secretery of Indian Academy Education Trust, Mr. T.N. Venkatesh, Trustee-Indian Academy Education Trust, Heads of the Institutions, faculty and students coalesced in the formal ceremony by lighting the lamp and invoking the Lords grace.
The Chief Guest inspired the audience with his words of wisdom, on the true value and strength of humility and gratitude to God an individual must imbibe in attaining the purpose of one’s life.
The Chairman Dr. T. Somasekhar, emphasized the need to augment the institution to create an ideal and multidimensional academic institution.
The initiative at creating better future for the society is observed with various gestures to improve the prospectus of schools and colleges. The school children of government school in various areas are supported by the Founders’ every year. This year, the students of Government School (Challakere) were encouraged with contributions.
