The Orientation Programme for Lecturers in Economics was conducted at Indian Academy Pre-University College on 29 November 2018. The Pre-University Education Dept, Govt. of Karnataka’s initiative was well received by economics lecturers of many colleges from North Bangalore. The formal inaugural programme began with the dignitaries lighting the lamp followed by welcome note by Prof. J. Rajeswari, Principal, IAPUC. The chief guest, Sri Ashok Kumar, Deputy Director, Department of Education, Bangalore North delivered the key note address. He reminded everyone that teaching is a skill, art as well as a profession. He insisted the teachers to step up classroom management techniques to reach the subject matter to students. This proved to be valuable especially when colleges are preparing their PU students for their final exam to be held in March 2019. Dr. T. Somasekhar, Chairman, Indian Academy Group of Institutions, provided the audience with his Presidential remarks wherein he briefed about learning as a life long process to keep pace with continuous changes in the education system. Prof. Rajasekhar, Principal, Govt. PU College, D.J. Halli gave the vote of thanks.
After the formal inaugural programme, chapter wise discussion of micro economics and macro economics was carried out by Sri Harish B (Govt. PU College, Suffanahalli, Ramanagaea Taluk) and Arimathi Pushpalatha (Govt. PU College, Malleswaram). This was followed by Tips for Evaluation & Scoring High Marks by Sri Veeraraju M. V (Govt. PU College, Siravara, Tumkur Taluk).
